Costumes

The coolest costume that I saw last year was a guy dressed as an Umpa Loompa. I think he was waiting for his friends 'cuz he was kinda hangin' out on the corner. It wasn't a home made cosutume, but store bought, and it looked REALLY good! The best part though was his hair. Not only did he do the green. But, he also had dreadlocks!

Some Things Cannot Be Listed

1. Tell me something obvious about you. I am a female. 2. Tell me something about you that many don't know. Their opinion is just as good as everyone elses. 3. What is your biggest fear? Being alone. People hating me. Or being upset with me. 4. Do you normally go the safe route or take the short cut? Depends, as long as I have a trusty map. I use Yahoo! Maps A LOT! 5. Name one thing you want that you can't buy with money. World Peace. 6. What is your most treasured possession? My husband. 7. What is the one thing you hate most about yourself that you do often? Apologize. Cry. Gossip. 8. What is your favorite lie to tell? "I'm fine." I just don't want people to ask what's the matter? 9. Name something you've done once that you can't wait to do again. Have a great Halloween! 10. Are you the jealous type? Extremely! 11. What is the one person, place or thing you can't say no to? My husband. 12. What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you? My husband just called me to see how I was doing. To hear my voice. He takes good care of me when I am sick. He was there for me during my depression like no one else was. 13. If you could do something crazy right now, what would it be? Quit. Go get my new glasses and some candy. Bake. 14. When was the last time you cried? Saturday night, two weeks ago. Mimic had a rough night. 15. When was the last time you felt so good that nothing else mattered? What's the story behind your online persona/name? My mind is fuzzy. And, for those that have been around long enough, my name does change with frequency. I don't know what I want my online name to be. I don't like how I'll name myself after something. I don't think that I should be about one thing. Other than being me and finding out what makes me happy and pursue it.

Last Thursday of October 2004!

Sad! My stomach is all grumbly! I was talking with a co-worker and suddenly my stomach made this weird sound. We both looked at it. I even ate lunch! What the heck? Maybe my latest sick days of fasting are catching up with me? Oh well. Tonight I am making wonderful spaghetti with Basil & Sundried Tomato sauce and Rosemarry seasoned bread from Wal-mart. That stuff is addictive. I think I could eat the entire loaf if I just warmed up a can of sauce to go with. It's kinda like Hawaiian bread. Mmm...that and butter. Or, my grandma-in-law's handmade tortillas (fresh off the stove) and butter. And then there is all of the Halloween candy this weekend! You know, the first meal my husband ever made for me was shrimp & basil pasta. It had a great tomato & wine sauce! MMmm!!! I guess that makes up for the time a few days prior when I kicked him in the chest. But in my defence, he was tickling me! He tickled me to a point that we were both on the floor. His roommate came up and told me to kick him in the chest 'cuz that was his only weak point. So...I did.... I think it rendered him weak against me for the next two weeks, because after that he kinda followed me around, hung on me, was really sweet and affectionate. Now, keep in mind I was his first girlfriend, so it's kinda understandable. But, by about the second week, we were all kinda like, dude! wake up! It's nice, but...get back to normal! Odd part is that after he stopped, I started to do it for about 6 months. Yup, that's me. Halloween costume ideas? None. Not a one! My favorite has always been the witch. My husband was considering going as Inu Yasha, but then he would have to bleach his hair blonde. I'm just not sure about that. He would look great, but...I think I might get freaked out for the first hour. This weekend we are going to a friend's house for a party. It will probably just be us hanging out, which is great. Typically we have LAN parties. I rock at Stronghold! The boys are in love with the new Panzer game. Ah...if only i could play Sims Makin' Magic in a LAN.... Maybe that has changed with Sims 2? Or do I have to go back to the Sims Online thing? Oye. Decisions, decisions.

Think Think Think

Oh what to do? What to do? I have a DC meeting tonight. People want to role play. My poor Mimic got into a bad situation, now she has to find a way out. ::sniff, sniff:: Other than that, I am determined to REST. I need to. DESPERATELY!!! In fact, a sticky note has been taped to my monitor for the last four months demanding that I "TAKE IT EASY" in faded purple fashion. I wish people would talk to you the way that you are greeted when you get off of the plane in Hawaii. "Relax!" Oh to go to Hawaii! That would be fun! I'll make that my meditation for the next month. Not that I meditate, but I should ^.^

DOOM! DOOMED!!!

I feel like there is some impending doom lurking behind the corner. Will it be a friendly face? Someone on the phone? Or thru a forum? Maybe it's the anticipation of gift-giving that is already weighing on my financially burdened mind? Will my family & friends be satisfied with the gifts I give them? It is the first Christmas as a married woman. So, I am looking at double the presents and Christmas cards. And then there is the dreaded "forgot" gifts. Those people who either always remember you or the ones that suddenly decided to do gifts this year. I think I said this before, but this year I plan on doing food baskets! I love to bake & make crafty things, and I thought that that would be so much more personal. I never liked buying clothes for people. And whenever I received a gift from someone I would CRINGE! Believe me, I tried my hardest not to do it on the outside! But, clothes are TOO personal! How can anyone think that they know someone well enough to give them clothes. Oh well, this is my second week of being sick. I think Halloween might be sent in front of the tv. Maybe a Buffy marathon?

Got the Motts

I haven't been able to find a picture yet. But, when you go grocery shopping, be sure to pick up a pack of Mott's Mixed Berry applesauce!!! It makes your lunch just that more special =)

Proctor

Did you ever notice that in most '80s movies, whenever there was a mysterious bad guy they named him Proctor. Or some other sexless name? Then, on top of that, they would theorize about him, but you never saw him, or any of his crones. Maybe one of the characters was on the take, but other than that...nothing! There was someone like that in the movie THE NIGHT THEY SAVED CHRISTMAS. Basically, the dad was drilling for oil by the north pole. Santa Claus took his family away for a few nights, everyone had a blast at the north pole, but when they came back the dad and the dad's boss convinced them that they had been kidnapped, drugged and were having hallucinations, all by some other mystical man.

NaNo Notes yay! Spoilers yay!

All notes = Spoilers I think that I will start my novel with a funeral. Yeah.... And then my character will receive a package in the mail. What is the package? Her inheritance. His journal.

Horoscope

Quickie:Do you feel uncomfortable in your clothes? Maybe it's time to change your style. Overview:If you're out shopping for a gift, you won't be the soul of frugality. Just don't get too crazy -- today's plastic quickly turns into tomorrow's finance charges. Stay within your budget. It really is the thought that counts. Fact: It is my cousin's 7th birthday wednesday. I'm going to mail her a bracelet I made. I might have to redo the necklace. For Christmas I plan on crocheting scarfs. Yes, this year it is all about the home made, baked goods & feel-goods!

Mimic

I have already mentioned Mimic. But I want to tell you more about her. Mimic is the Wandrakin that I play for Dragon Crest. Wandrakin are ever-childs. I doubt any of them have ever died of old age. What is so great about being a Wandrakin? Well, you get to Taunt people, act like a child, break out a game of Twister during battle. Stuff like that! People tend not to trust you, but that's silly! Know why? 'Cuz Wandrakin are great at following the rules! We are very legal! ::nods:: Although I think we are mostly illegitimate.... Why Mimic? IRL, I have a tendancy to mimic other people. I will take on sayings, postures, body language, rituals as my friends. It's annoying. Sad thing is, I really haven't incorporated it in game yet, but I am planning on it. Currently, Mimic is attempting to become the shaman of the Stag Tribe. Although, at the last gathering, things got a little weird in the totem realm. Mimic actually had a break down. I think that if anyone finds her now, she will be sitting in the middle of Wandrakin Camp, rocking back and forth, hands on her head. Yeah...it was bad. But, she has done a lot of good, like saved her fellow warriors when on guard duty. A couple of wolves came thru. She put them to sleep, killed them, and brought...er...most of her friends back to life.

Topics I Would Like To Write About

Spirituality Witchcraft Real Life Travel The Ocean Escape Magic Stars Inquisitiveness Cats Gods and Goddesses Unicorns (for children. whenever i went to the school library, i would pester Mrs. M for books on unicorns.)

It's So Easy...

Happy Go lucky!!! We are the Wad of Dough!!! It's Yatta!!! A great inspirational song sung by Japanese men wearing adam costumes, and an entire audience singing along! The ultimate cult song! Great for a group Halloween costume.

Not volunteer?

Bush's famous draft speech that he gave in Florida.

Seriously

This is an Anti-Bush Ad. Seriously.

Theme

Themes I want to explore in NaNo: Lost Spirituality: how my character thinks she lost it, where she thinks she will find it, how others instruct her to find it. Love: she has it, but it's not enough. Life: is hers superficial? what changes await her? Personality: when does she feel free to express herself? in her real life or online? to whom? does she look to have the same conversations with different people? Travel: how is each place different?

NaNo Notes

Why don't they just call it Nanu Nanu? Maybe I will call it that. Just for its own spiffiness. Yes, I do plan on doing the NaNoBlogMo. Maybe you will too? Apparently /. mentioned NaNo, so the website might be a little crowded =) Notes for NaNo: Current working title: Escape! Or the Pina Colada Novel Character neuroses: searches personal columns, she will have a blog as well as an online personality, sings karaoke (hey, I needed a filler!). I plan on using my Apples 2 Apples game for help.

Sicky Poo!

It stinks being sick. Events that occured over the past week or so: Death & Loss. And sick. My parents had to put our Great Dane to sleep the other week. He was about 9 years old, which is pretty good for a puppy of his size. =) Hubby has been sick from work related stress. Finally got him on some medicine that makes him better. Got sick. Lost & Found wallet within 8 hours. At a gas station. And some more cruddy stuff happened. Everyone needs a nap.

Autumn At Last

I believe that it is whisperingly cold outside. AND I LOVE IT! Reminds me of the autumns I had growing up. Took some Ibuprofen to battle the current headache I am having. Feeling cruddy. Possibly caught something while out walking the other day...in the cold. Yeah, I know. So, I might not be going to Dragon Crest this weekend. Then again, neither are some of my friends supposedly. My boss is letting us destroy the really old records that have been giving us sinus issues for the last ten years here. Isn't that nice? More room in filing cabinets for...more files! At least we can get rid of the boxes o' files that we trip over. ::sigh:: Well, I reunited with some old friends recently. And so far, all is well. I thought that they hated me. I guess it was just their normal "we never call or write to anyone, they have to come to us thing". Yes, very sucky, but oh well. I don't mind having someone to talk to other than a co-worker or a stranger during lunch. So, that will be nice. Go away headache!!! I've bee taking more pictures lately. A few good ones, so that made me happy. We've been organizing at home too lately. My husband has been sick with stress and finally went to the doctor and got some medicine THAT REALLY WORKS!!! Yay!!! Oh well, I guess we'll see what happens this weekend. Currently, I am listening to the Anime Radio Nook on Live365.

PBS Kids: Sesame Street

I wish that I had a job in accounting or at the bank so that I could count money like the count all day. Above is a link to the Sesame St website. Included are today's Letter & Number.

Stop the Draft

Here is a petition asking Bush to be straight with the American people. http://www.democracyforamerica.com/nodraft Links to the actual bill: http://congress.org/congressorg/bill.xc?billnum=S.89&congress=108 http://congress.org/congressorg/webreturn/?url=http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c108:S.89: Here is the actual letter that I received. You can sign up to be informed about different bills that you are interested in by going to the Congress website. George Bush is not being straight with the American people about the draft. He promised in the first presidential debate to win the war on terror with "an all-volunteer army". He has already violated that commitment. The truth is that a draft has already begun -- it just hasn't affected most of our families yet. Active duty soldiers who finish their commitments are being forced to stay in. And the flagrant misuse of the National Guard and Reserves has ripped apart families by sending unprecedented numbers of them to occupy a foreign country. Because of George Bush's failure to lead the world, we are nearly alone in Iraq. If we "stay the course" with this president, he will face a choice: drastically reduce our commitments or reinstate the draft. Sign the petition demanding that he tell Americans which one he will choose: http://www.democracyforamerica.com/nodraft George Bush chose to go to war without substantial help from our allies. He has badly over-committed our armed forces. One of the Joint Chiefs and his own administrator in Iraq have both said that we will need tens of thousands more troops to stabilize Iraq. Extreme measures are already being taken to meet the shortfall -- and the president has an obligation to explain how he will meet our commitments without drafting young people into service. Fathers from New York who joined the Reserves to guard America against another attack have been sent to Iraq. Teenagers in the Florida National Guard who expected to provide hurricane relief in their home state have been forced to fight halfway around the world. George Bush has left our homeland unprotected. And his plans to move existing forces away from threats like North Korea put our interests and our allies in danger. This cannot continue. Sign this petition demanding honesty -- we will deliver it to the White House: http://www.democracyforamerica.com/nodraft Family friends helped a young George Bush dodge the draft. Dick Cheney didn't fight because he had, in his words, "other priorities" -- he got five deferments. We cannot afford to let them dodge the question of a draft now. Will they force a new generation of young people to make the sacrifices they refused to make? Or will they leave us unprotected at home and in other dangerous parts of the world? I have a son in college. My family and millions of other families could be affected by a draft. We deserve to know before we vote in November how George Bush and Dick Cheney plan to prevent one. Sign the petition now: http://www.democracyforamerica.com/nodraft Just recently a frightened Congress voted down a bill calling for a draft. (After all, they need to get re-elected in a few weeks.) But the way they rejected the bill showed just how easy calling a draft would be -- they suspended normal rules and voted with almost no warning. Authorizing a draft would be just as easy -- it could be done in less than 48 hours. We have been misled about this war from the beginning. They said Iraq had nuclear weapons -- that was false. They said the whole war would cost a few billion dollars -- in reality, we spend several billion dollars every month. They say things are getting better -- but every month brings more casualties than the last. Now they say we won't need a draft. We cannot afford to take their word for it. Governor Howard Dean, M.D. P.S. Please forward this message to your friends. We will only get the truth if we all stand up and demand it.

Radio Buffy!

This internet station broadcasts from France. At the start, you will hear a little girl say, "Radio Buffy". It's so cute! Anyway, tune in here at work when you are craving to hear the Scooby Gang in action. Yes, not only does this station play music from the show, but scenes as well. So, besides great tunes, you also get all of the witty banter and Buffy puns.

Gnomes!!!

Last night while playing The Sims I enchanted four little gnomes and watched them get drunk on nectar and tend to my garden. I installed the Makin' Magic expansion pack over the weekend and quickly became enthralled with the game. I actually dreamed about it one night. I attempted to raise a dragon, but all he did was eat my garden. Now, I'm obsessed with turning my neighbor Brad Burb into a toad. None of my characters in the game like him. He reminds me of a crazed varsity football coach. Magic town itself is amazing. I can't wait to look at some of the houses. As of now, the dwelling I made for my character, Elphaba Alabastor, looks like the creepy cottage in the woods, complete with haunted trees and crypts. I have a collection of old newspapers in the front yard, and am working on devising a trap so the bear doesn't come in and eat the honey from my bees next anymore. My little black cat, Monkey, mostly chews on his little mouse and looks confusedly at my posters. Tonight, I duel!

October 1st

I love October! It's my favorite month! And today started perfect with beautiful rain! Yeah! I took pictures this morning before I went in to work. Oye, cubicles! I'm looking forward to this month. Nothing dramatic going on yet. I just hope it starts out right. September ended badly. Yesterday, after I dropped off a co-worker, I was a block away from my home when a lady standing by the side of the road waved me down. She asked if I could drive her to the bus station since her taxi was late and she needed to get there in twenty minutes. I told her that I had no idea where the bus station was. She went inside a local office and asked for directions. Normally, I don't do this, I either drive off or give some excuse. But something here seemed wrong. When she got into my car, she told me that she was trying to get away from her boyfriend who had been beating her for the last year. I was shocked! But, we picked up her luggage and off we went! I was so nervous about what I had gotten myself into. Would her boyfriend be waiting at the bus station? Would he track her down? or me? What if she was lying and was about to pull out a gun once we got on the road? I tried to call my husband, but no answer. I tried to talk with the girl (we never exchanged names). She was really nervous and talked a lot at first, then got quiet. She said that she was going to go home to Michigan, and that her boyfriend would get home in about 15 minutes. The entire time I kept looking around to make sure we weren't being followed, and all the time I kept thinking that this girl had a 98% chance of being killed by her boyfriend. I had studied domestic violence in school, and consider myself an activist against it. I was so frightened, but kept trying to calm her down. Maybe that would help me too, and not get us into a carwreck. Fifteen minutes later we found the bus station, a nice elderly man helped us carry her bags inside. She said I was too little to help, but managed anyway. We hugged, and I left her at the station, hoping that she would safely find her way back to her family. When I got home, I saw her boyfriend drive by and prayed that he wouldn't go after her. She had told me that her boyfriend almost decided to stay home because he said his horoscope wasn't very good for that day. That unnerved me because of my avid horoscope wariness. Am I like her boyfriend? Do I have similar traits as a violent man? How could I be anything like what I am most against? I thought about playing a violent video game when I got home, but decided a hot shower would be best. Happy 1st of October, may your month be well, fun and safe.

COMEDY CENTRAL TV Shows: The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

I did not watch the debates, but I did watch the DAILY SHOW last night. And I must say how eager I am to go to Poland! I was impressed with the snippets I saw of the debate. John Kerry sounded wonderful & prepared. Bush sounded like an infomercial for Poland, that only those who have stayed awake all night, eating mallomars and drinking Mountain Dew could appreciate because they are so wired.
